Artists : Pauline Bazignan / Philippe Cognée / Vincent Fournier / Vincent Mauger / Nicolas Moulin / Laurent Valera
For this third season of exhibitions in Bordeaux, Pascal Bouchaille / Art & Communication presents a selection of new works that dialogue, answer one another and maintain a relationship of form or of specific points of view in a building at the heart of the Euratlantique neighbourhood, opposite the MECA.
In the entrance hall, mental representations are at the heart of the installation. Those of Vincent Mauger, who has been pursuing his research on the rebuilding of landscapes close to computer-generated imagery, using everyday construction materials. Nicolas Moulin’s graphite drawings are the start of an inventory of the “asteroid” body of the solar system. The action of drawing allows the idea of their perception to go beyond their vision. “An archaic act for archaic bodies”. Vincent Fournier pursues his exploration of the important utopian and futuristic narratives and the most emblematic centres of space research.
The meeting room brings together strong and poetic paintings. Philippe Cognée, with a new series of landscapes, creates using his complex technique a canvas where blurring, accidents and rips upset, disrupt and deconstruct the image. Pauline Bazignan, using the elements, brings to the surface a poetic, sensitive and intense painting. Like an archaeologist using different layers with games of superimposition and different pictorial techniques, Laurent Valera’s painting resonates and vibrates with its own specific energy.
