Bordeaux Art Contemporain (BAC) brings together around thirty structures involved in the production and dissemination of contemporary art in the Bordeaux metropolis: museums and public institutions, private organizations, art galleries, associative projects, artists run spaces, documentation collections …
B.A.C. is conceived as a platform for exchanges, cooperation, resource pooling and mutual aid between its members, to ensure the promotion of contemporary art and Bordeaux’s actors to the general public, press, professionals, collectors and other networks, in France and abroad.Through the implementation of mediation actions, the organization of unifying events (such as the WAC) and the implementation of a joint communication strategy (website, newsletter, social networks …), B.A.C. participates in the influence of the territory’s artistic news, presents the local scene’s vitality and richness, and sensitizes the local and visiting public to the contemporary art.
The objectives are :
- Promote contemporary art in the Bordeaux metropolis
- Broadcast the members of B.A.C’s program and present the richness and vitality of the local art scene
- Raise public awareness and promote access to contemporary art
- Encourage interconnection and collaboration between the members of B.A.C.
